Watt (W) / ワット(W):

 Unit of power or work done at rate of one joule per second or rate of work represented by current of one ampere under a pressure of one volt (volt-ampere). / 一秒間に1ジュール分のエネルギーを費やす仕事量を示し、1ボルトの電圧下で1アンペアの電流を流すのに必要とされる電力量と同じ。Wの記号で示す。

Wavelength / 波長:

 The distance measured in the direction of propagation of a repetitive electrical pulse or waveform between two successive points that are characterized by the same phase of vibration (one cycle). / 電気的なパルスは波形が連続的に伝搬する中で、波形・パルスの規則的な同じ形状の2点間の距離をいい、それが1サイクルの振動となる。

Wiping Action / ワイピングアクション:

 The action that occurs when contacts are mated with a sliding action. Wiping has the effect of removing small amounts of contamination from the contact surfaces, thus establishing better conductivity. / コンタクトがかん合する時に滑り動作を伴うことで、コンタクト表面を拭き取る作用となり不要なごみ等を取り除く。これにより、より良い伝導性が得られる。
